active policy of excellence in Health, Safety, Quality and the Environment (HSEQ) for employees, customers and anyone who may be affected by our business. It is the company's intention that HSEQ performance is an integral part of efficient and successful Business Management.

Health and Safety Policy
Aarco Electrical are committed to fulfilling both the moral

responsibilities and the legal obligations arising out of common and statute law in respect of the Health, Safety and Welfare at work of its employees. The Company also accepts responsibility for ensuring the health and safety of others, including the employees and customers of clients, contractors and other companies, as well as members of the public and any other persons whom may be affected by the conduct of the Company's Business Activities.

It is the policy of the Company to meet its moral and statutory responsibilities in this regard by ensuring, so far as is reasonably practicable, that employees are able to carry out their work without risks to their safety or health, and that clients and their customers, contractors, agents, franchisees and other members of the public do not face unacceptable risks to their safety or health arising out of the conduct of Company business.

Overall responsibility for safety and health matters rests with the Company Partner who will ensure that effective arrangements and adequate resources are provided for the implementation of the terms of this policy within the context, direction and policies operating throughout the Company.

To achieve these objectives, the Company will:     Develop, implement, review and continuously improve a Control Of, and a Safe System of Work.


      Ensure that, in working as a sub-contractor on sites occupied or
controlled by others, employees work in a safe manner, and comply
fully with any established local rules and procedures intended to
ensure the safety of persons on or near the workplace.

      Promote formal consultation with employee working parties on matters
of compliance with the companies Health and Safety Policies and
Procedures through the medium of consultation and agreement.

      Allocate sufficient resources as part of the budgetary process to ensure
that this policy, and any associated safety policies and procedures, can
be implemented effectively across all work under the control of the
Company.

      Monitor performance in safety matters, and review from time to time
through audit processes, the effectiveness of this policy and the
arrangements for its implementation.

The Company will meet these obligations under the law by actively promoting health and safety interests as fundamental to the success of its business activities

The Controlling Partners of the company recognise the need for consistent standards and a direction and strategy in all matters affecting the health and safety of employees. To this end, and in accordance with the requirements of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1974 & 1992 (as amended), a Nominated Person will be appointed to administrate, co­ordinate and oversee health and safety matters for the company.


 

      Provide and maintain safe places of work and a safe and healthy
working environment for all employees in accordance with the
requirements of Current Legislation, Common and Sub-ordinate Law
and Approved Codes of Practice.

      Implement Generic and Specific Safety Policies, Procedures and
Written Instructions, and develop and maintain methods and systems
of work that ensure so far as is reasonably practicable, the safety and
health at work of all employees and others who carry out work under
the control of or in the name of the Company;

      Provide the necessary Information, Instruction, Training and
Supervision, in order that employees are responsive to the risks
inherent in their work, and are able through the understanding and
implementation of Control of Work practices to manage such risks to
an acceptable level.

      Use materials, substances and equipment of good design quality, that
the hazards associated with their use are assessed, and subject to
appropriate safeguards and procedures, with an effective regime of
control and maintenance, can continue to be used in a manner which
does not place at undue risk the health or safety of those involved.

      Approve appropriate methods of work, provide suitable protective
clothing and safety equipment to ensure that, where identifiable
hazards are recognised, work can be carried out in safety and without
incident.


Ensure that Managers and Supervisors have the necessary information, training and skills to enable them to make appropriate assessments of the risks from each work activity, and to carry out their duties and responsibilities for the effective Management of Health and Safety.

Ensure that all employees and others over whose work control is exercised to any degree are aware of their own responsibilities for safety, and through the provision of information, instruction, training and supervision ensure that their actions do not permit unacceptable risks to the health or safety of others.

Make suitable and effective contingencies for dealing with fire, security and other emergencies in accordance with statutory and operational requirements.

Exercise such control as may be regarding the activities of sub­contractors and others carrying out work in connection with Company Business, to ensure that the health and safety of employees and others are not placed at risk by such activities, and in particular to ensure that contractor selection process evaluates and approves their competence, experience and reputation in safety matters, and those who will be carrying out the work are demonstrated to be adequately trained and properly equipped to work in a safe manner and that appropriate methods of work are planned and implemented to protect the health and safety of anyone who might otherwise be placed at risk from their activities.


The company regard the health and safety of employees as a management issue of an importance and priority at least equal with those of Quality, Productivity and Efficiency.

The Company is committed to the development of a positive safety culture, whereby partners, managers and supervisors effectively propagate and communicate the philosophy behind this safety policy.

It is the responsibility of employees at every level to implement the terms of this policy to the best of their ability. The policy will be reviewed and revised from time to time to ensure that it continues to provide the basis for good standards of health and safety at work for all employees
